I have developed a report wherein i have to sort on a particular field, but that field should not show in the report. How to handle such situation.

There is no way to hide field within a table or matrix, there is workaround for this:
you can do onething make font and background color same as your page background under field formatting and also choose apply to header option within field formatting. So field will not appear but still it acquire the space so shrink the field in that table or matrix manually.
Other way is you sort that another field which you are using in table such that field has unique value for each value by which you want to sort. You just do it by using Sort by option in under Column tools option.
