How to have a refreshable cloud spreadsheet that anyone can edit?

Hi,

Trying to build a report with the following workflow:

a) A source spreadsheet is uploaded to OneDrive and any employee can edit this in OneDrive to add new records (a name and some reference fields)

b) PowerBI, on refresh, pulls in the latest spreadsheet data (via Web data source) and then runs a custom function on each row which brings in more data from elsewhere (Google Analytics)

c) This updates the charts on the frontend.

The problem? How do we make it so anyone can edit the OneDrive spreadsheet without having to use my account credentials.

If I create a 'share link' on OneDrive then PowerBI doesn't recognise the datasource as a spreadsheet.

If I paste the direct web link (ending in .xslx) then PowerBI prompts every user for my account credentials.

Is there a solution to this? A better way to do this? Without spending money?

Thanks for any help!

@Anonymous i'm not sure if it is something to do wiht powerbi, it is more of sharing file using onedrive which is very common. not sure what the actual issue is? does refresh in powerbi runs ok after you published the report.

@parry2k the issue is that PowerBI won't handle a 'shared' link from OneDrive. And when using the 'non-shared' link it asks for account credentials if any user wants to refresh (and I don't want to give them mine). We don't publish the report, we export to PDF.

Basically I wondered if there is a better way to have a shared editable datasource that other people can easily modify ?
