How to get date slicers override visual specific filters

Hi,

Is it possible to have a visulization defaulting to a time range but still respond to other time ranges selected through slicers?

For example, I want to have pie chart that shows commission earned during "last month" by line of business. However I want to have a separate slicer in the same page that shows fiscal years/ quarters/months as the case may be. I am looking for functinality where in by clicking  last fiscal year, the pie chart should show data for last year instead of  its default "last month"

I am a new user and still learning. Thanks in advance for any help!
