If the user has changed columns in the front end how to identify or trace back the original names, if it was on query editor, I know for a fact that advanced editor might be helpful but not here on the front end. How to do this?

In this case, you may just go to query editor see the original column.
If you change the column name in the Data View interface, you cannot trace the original name without going to query editor or datasource. The Desktop tables are reflecting the change in query editor, but not backward they cannot not change the column in query editor or datasource.
