How to filter a table view in different page when we click on a table view in another page

Helloo experts,

I have a table view that has name field in one page, Say Pag1. When I click on the name field in Page1, it should filter the name field in table view in Page2. How to achieve this without drill through option?

Page1

Table

Name field

AAA

XXX

QWE

Page2

Table

Name field

AAA

XXX

QWE

When I click on AAA in Page1, TAble in Page2 should get filtered with AAA

How to achieve this?

Thanks,

Anilesh

@anileshknpowerb on page2, in drill thru, add name column, go back to page 1, right click on "AAA" and you will see drill thru option, and click on that will take to page 2 and you will only see one name from page 1

Can we achieve without drill through?

@anileshknpowerb you can use sync slicer and hide slicer on 2nd page.

I am not using slicer on Page1. How can I achieve when I click on Page1-->Table-->Name field, it filters Page2-->Table-->Name field

Hi, @anileshknpowerb

The operation you describe is called “Ad hoc highlighting”

It is a bit different from filtering. It is a temporary interaction. Once the page is switched, the effect of the interaction  in this page will no longer be saved.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/end-user-interactions

Unfortunately, at present, except for the use of filters/filter panes and bookmarks, the table interaction status cannot be saved permanently.

Even if you are using the drill through function, you must enable "keep all filters" to deliver interactive effects

As a workaround, you can consider create custom tooltip page.

@anileshknpowerb not sure why we are going in circles, already explain how it will work with a drill thru, not sure what else functionality you are looking for?
