How to create the below chart

Hello Everyone,

How can I create the below chart with milestones on y axis and dates. The planned bar is hatched bar and the actual/ forecasted as solid bar overlapping each other. As well as I want to add conditional formatting to it.

Is it possible in Power BI.

Thank you.

Hi @atasgao ,

Based on your description, we recommend you to use a custom Visual - The xViz Gantt Chart.

It has several features that may meet your requirements:

  1. It can add more columns for categories and values to provide additional information.
  2. It can add Milestones to keep track of deliverables and major events.
  3. It apply different colors to nodes based on different rules to highlight the status.

@Greg_Deckler Can you please let me know what are the 3 party visuals where I can have this hatched bar pattern.

Thanks,

Aakanksha

@atasgao No idea, there are literally hundreds of third-party visuals and I haven't used all of them. If it is the hatched bars you want you might be able to do that with an image, stacked visuals and transparent backgrounds.

@atasgao Couple options. You could look for a third-party custom visual. Recent updates did add an X-Axis constant in the Analytics sub-pane. To get the overlap without custom visuals you could use stacked visuals (one on top of the other with background turned off on the top one)
