I do not want to sort the records of column. I want to sort the column name in report level filter tab. For example if I have columns category , Customer and date. I want them to be displayed in report level filter as : Date - > Customer - > Category and not Category - > customer - > Date. Is there anty way to do that?
What visual do you use? If you use table visual, you can order the column order by drag the position in field area, please see the highlighted in green line in the screenshot below.
If you create a bar chart, like the picture below, you want to change the column name order in red line? If it is, we are unable to achieve in Power BI desktop. Thanks for understanding.
Hi @v-huizhn-msft. I do not want to sort column in a table visualization . I want to it to srt it in the report level filter tab.
In the above picture I want Category to come on the top by not putting number before it
No currently there's no way to Sort the Order of the Fields in the Page/Report Level Filters and also no way to drag to rearrange.
You have to decide on the order and then drag the fields in the order you want to the Report Level Filters!
Unfortunately if you want to make any changes later on (since drag to rearrange does not work) you'll have basically remove and then place again as many fields as necessary if not all to achieve the order you want!
Clearly we should be allowed at least the option to drag and rearrange - hopefully they'll address this soon!
