How to count matching ID in same table from two different dates

Hello PBI Community,

I have a table that contains as columns:

  • Report Effective Date
  • Employee ID

I need to count the distinct number of Employee ID who were in the table on Report Effective Date 1 AND Report Effective Date 2, to effectively create count of Retained employees over a given time period. The count should only return those employee IDs who matched from Date 1 and Date 2.

I would prefer the start and end Dates to be dynamic so that using a slicer I can adjust the report effective dates and the measure will recalculate the retention count based on any two report effective dates chosen.

I appreciate your suggestions!
