How to connect PowerBI Dekstop to secured (SSL) cloudera cluster

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get data from my hdfs.

I specify the server name:

https://NameNode:50470

and get an error:

"HDFS cannot connect to the server: `namenode`. The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TSL secure channel.."

Thanks,

Andrzej

@andrzejj

From the error message, it seems that you don’t have the SSL certificate installed on the computer where you use Power BI Desktop.

Could you please first install the SSL certificate on your computer and try again?

Best Regards,

Herbert

@v-haibl-msft

You were right man!

I installed certificate but got other error:

"Details: "We found extra characters at the end of JSON input.""

Any idea?

@andrzejj

How did you specify the URL in Power BI Desktop to connect to hdfs? Did you use the URL like below which mentioned in this article?

  • Secure: http://<namenode>:50470/webhdfs/v1/<directory>

Best Regards,
Herbert
