How to connect Power BI with DB2 through DirectQuery

Hi,

I have an issue trying to connect a database IBM DB2 to my Power BI dashboard through IBM Driver. I checked on this forum all the topic related to this problem and I upgrade yet, the driver version to the last one.

The error is the following one:

Captura.PNG

I checked yet on the Power BI documentation that DB2 is a source allowed.

https://docs.microsoft.com/es-es/power-bi/connect-data/power-bi-data-sources

Thanks for the help.

Hi @Anonymous

When connecting, which driver do you use? IBM or Microsoft?

Is the IBM DB2 on the same server with your power bi desktop?

This error indicates the server name and database name may not be correct and you may have limit acess to the server and database.

Generally, the server name is host name: port name.

please check if your account have acess to the data on IBM DB2 and check if your server open the port for it.

Best Regards
Maggie

Hi Maggie,

First of all, thanks for the help and the reply.

I checked and I have the last version of the IBM driver since last Thursday.

Second point, when I'm trying to do the same queries on the DB2 but using the "import" option I don't have any kind of problem. Really strange issue.

Any other clue to solve this inconvenient ?
