How to compare sales data for January 2017 and January 2018 in one chart(clustered column chart)
If I use a date(axis) like a hierarchy, then the data is layered one on one. If the date is not hierarchical, then the data is compared, but they are unloaded by day. And I need to see the data collected by months.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I think I know where is the problem. In axis field, you should have the following Date hierarchy- YEAR -> MONTH. And in the graph drill down till the month. But for drill use the last of three buttons on the top left corner (marked with red in attached picture).
You need 2 following columns Month and YEar. Then you put Month on Axis and Year on Legend.
It's impossible to use anything in the legend, cause I use data from 2 different reports in the field value, legend in this case is not active.
I don't really get the structure of your data - do you have values for 2017 and 2018 in separate tables?
Could you show some sample of the data?
remade the report. now all the data in one report.
sorry for dullness, I'm new here.

thank you so much.
THIS!! I had the same problem as the poster and for the past two days I could not find the answer. Then I see this post pop up 45 mins ago and BAM, that 3rd button drill down solved it for me. Thanks! Time to celebrate for the day and go to lunch.
