How to create 2 new conditional column as ICONS (shown below) using PBI Desktop or DAX or even Power Query,
I have a column named STATUS of TEXT datatype in my model with 4 values and I want to add 2 new columns next to it as shown in below snip, How do we apply conditional formatting to colums with TEXT datatype,
any help or hint please

I have reproduced some data sample with adding Index(in PQ) ,RAG and Trend columns using the following formula:
RAG =
SWITCH ( 'Table'[Status], "Excellence", 1, "Below Expected", 3, 2 )
Trend =
VAR _after =
MAXX (
FILTER ( 'Table', 'Table'[Index] = EARLIER ( 'Table'[Index] ) + 1 ),
[RAG]
) + 0
RETURN
IF ( _after = BLANK () || ABS ( _after - [RAG] ) < 2, 1, 2 )
Then use Conditional Formatting -->Icons for RAG and Trend columns like this:
The final output is shown below:
You could kindly take a look at the pbix file here.
In case there are no icons you want you could import it yourself as well, refer to:

@smjzahid what would be the logic for these icons?
You can create a measure with the logic and use a conditional formatting icon set. see this post
