How to Provide User Access to Multiple Power BI Dashboards in a Single WorkSpace

Hi Team,

Currently we are migrating reports from Tableau. As you know in Tableau we can create multiple sub-folders and publish dashboards in each folder. For each sub-folder we can assign a user group and as per access the user can see the folders to which he has access to.

In the same way we need to implement in Power BI. We have a single Workspace and it will be having multiple dashboards published. So how to provide access to users to specific dashboards in the workspace. Only other way around is to create multiple workspaces for each dashboard which will make maintaining the reports more time consuming.

Kindly provide ideas and suggestions for this requirement.

Hi @Anonymous,

Currently power bi only supports setting RLS on datasets.
This would be a workaround if the dashboard corresponds to a different data field.

You can refer:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-rls

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-rls

Best Regards,
