Hi,
For some reason PowerBI desktop decided to include dates that aren't even in the data spreadsheet.
Any ideas how I can get ride of these?
In excel it is as follows:
Jun 16
Jun 25
Jun 26
Jun 30
What shows up iis:
Jun 16
Jun 17
Jun 18
Jun 19
Jun 20
.... so on until...
Jun 30
I have no idea why it decided to create empty data rows...
I feel like it has to be a really simple answer...

Just as I suspected, you need to change the formatting on the graphs. Navigate to the Format paintbrush once you have selected the visual, then under "X-Axis" and "Type", change it to "Categorical".
Let me know if that works or if I need to provide a screenshot.
Thanks,
Alan
I am having this same issue! Although, I don't have the "Type" option under the "X axis" format field.
I am using Version: 2.68.5432.761 64-bit (April 2019)
The legend field is not in the Paint section; it is one of the field in the line chart itself. Click on the line chart. It will be the entry below Axis.
Hey @kgriendling,
Can you provide a screenshot of the dates in the spreadsheet and how they show in PBI Desktop?
I was unable to recreate the problem on my end.
Thanks,
Alan

Hello @alanhodgson ,
I have the same scenario but changing X-axis from Continuos to categorical in line and stacked column chart(combo chart) is not helping me in removing the spaces. Please find the below screenshots for your reference and please let me know how to proceed with this.
Before changing to Categorical
After changing it from Continuos to Categorical
Wow... what to say. KISS. Kit it simple...ME!
Thanks alot for reminding me, this so basic feature that i forgotted and was having a issue with that!
Perfect!
