How to Determine which Measures Used for Visualizations?

How can we determine which measures are being used for data visualizations and which are superfluous? I have so many test measures and it's caused my file to be rather bloated.

There is no global way that I am aware of, but you can do it on a visual by visual basis.

  • select the visual in question
  • Look at what measures in your measure listing are checked.

You have to repeat this for each visual and slicer, and even check the filters for specific visuals. Measures can be used in visual level slicers.

Unfortunately you cannot multi-select visuals to do this. There was a method here to do this more easily, but apparently it doesn't work due to a change in the PBIX file format.

The measures which are being used in visualizations will be ticked and the unused ones will not be ticked.

So you can differentiate between them
