How to Create a link to a file in a shared drive !

Hi,

I am currently using May,2018 version of Power BI Desktop.

I am trying to give a link to a "xlsx" file in a shared drive.

The use case I am trying to acheive- The user should be able to open the xlsx file when he would click the link.

Note that i am not trying to convert a column in a table to a file link, I am just trying to give a file link in a text box.

See screen shot below-

Hi @kdesai,

As we can see, the text hyperlink supports web URL starts with http/https. I'm afraid it cannot link to a file path.

In your scenario, I would suggest you try the hyperlinks in table.

Can not hyperlink to file in computer

More URL support in tables & matrix

Best regards,

Sure!

Thank You for your reply!

Also, I was wondering where to find all these other options - file, mailto etc.c1.PNG

I could see an option for Hyperlink only like this when I select a text.

Thank You.

Hi @kdesai,

Rather than insert a Text box, the workaround mentioned in my original post is applyed to Column field whose data category should be set to Web URL, then, add the column into table visual. The [Type], file, mailto etc are another column values.

Best regards,
