How do i make other visuals like a pie chart and bar chart interactive with my slicer?

I have a slicer with a list of 50 projects from 2016 to 2018. I have a pie chart where i grouped the projects by 4 regions and I have a bar chart that shows the projects spanned over 3 calendar years. When i click on a region in the pie chart, i want my slicer to only show the projects associated with that region. And same with the bar chart, when i click on a bar for 2018, i want my slicer to show only 2018 projects.  I went to Format| Edit Interactions but could not figure out how to make that work, or if that was even the right place to make this happen?

Hi @Anonymous,

The interactions between slicers and visuals don't work in the same way in between visuals. A slicer is used to filter out information so when you click on a Slicer the information on other visuals  (including slicers) is filtered however when you click on a donut chart or bar chart the slicer is not filtered out, this as to do with the purpose of the slicer.

The only way to have your slicer reduced accordingly to the year selection would be to have a slicer for year or region.

Thank you for your reply. I kept working on my report looking for a way to make everything interactive so you confirmed what I ran into, i ended up changing my slicer to a table and now all is interactive as I needed.
