How do I fix Credentials used by Personal Data Gateway?

Hi there,

We've been using On-premises data gateway (personal mode) for more than a year to extract data from the Web database. Everything worked fine until recently (several days ago) when we started getting creds validation error in Power BI Service:

Failed to update data source credentials: The credentials provided for the Web source are invalid. (Source at https://xxx.yyy.com/rest/erp/1.0/bi/project.)

Cache has been cleared in 'Data Cache Management Options'

Privacy Level = Organizational (also tried Public with no difference)

Web Datasource provides requested data in any browser under defined in Power BI creds 

Possible reason of the error is that Gateway which is running on my PC (64-bit) keeps trying to authenticate to the Web datasource under my Power BI creadentials (anna.kolbasova), and ignores correct creds defined in Data Source Credentials in Power BI Service. Here's our web datasource response:

Hi @Anonymous,

I'd like to suggest you check related api settings if nothing modified on your side. (normally 400 error means httprequests related issues)

You can also use fiddler to trace operation session or share local gateway log to help us clarify your scenario.

The On-premises data gateway service event logs are present under Application and Services Logs.

Fiddler Trace

Fiddler is a free tool from Telerik that monitors HTTP traffic. You can see the back and forth with the Power BI service from the client machine. This may show errors and other related information.
