How do I determine Current Quarter?

CMisCurrentMonth = if('Date'[MonthNumber] = Month(Today()),"CM",'Date'[Month])

This gives me a slicer/filter where current month is always selectable by selecting "CM".

CYisCurrentYear = if('Date'[Year] = Year(Today()),"CY",format('Date'[Year],"0"))

This gives me a slicer/filter where current year is always selectable by selecting "CY"

These rely on Year() and Month()  to do thier thing.

In between those two are CQisCurrentQuarter but...

There is no Quarter() function.

How do I get the equivilent of Quarter(Today)?

Thanx.

Phil

i think you can get using following formula:

CurrentQuarter =ROUNDUP(MONTH([TODAY()])/3, 0)

One thing, Today() does not go into brackets.

CurrentQuarter =ROUNDUP(MONTH(TODAY())/3, 0)

That worked out quite well.   Thank you!

If i use this, current Quarter number is showing in all the rows.

How to create column which has current Quarter as "Current Quarter", then rest is same like normal Quarter to be use for slicer (for default selection need to be current quarter)

My Date table comes from a spreadsheet.  This allows me to add my companies holidays into the mix for working day calculatoins and such.

I created a calculated column to identify if any particular date is in the current quarter.  If it is, I get "CQ".  If it is not, than I get Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4 as expected.

CQisCurrentQuarter =
IF ( ROUNDUP ( MONTH ( TODAY () ) / 3, 0 ) = 'Date'[QuarterNumber], "CQ", 'Date'[Quarter] )

Hope that helps.
