How do I create a visual using time intelligence if the table has no date data stored on it?

I have a table with no date data stored on it. Thus, if I created a date table I won't be able to create a relationship.

@brs09j you can do that, what about merging the tables? what information is in the 2 tables?

Hey,

if your table has no date column, than you may can build such a column, maybe there is year and a month column, from this you can "build" your date column.

If no such columns are available, you may have to consider to rebuild your data import. Often this "date" information is hidden in tabs of excel sheets or in the filename.

If you do not have such information available, you have to use some other kind of wizardry 😉

Regards

Theres two tables. One has dates and the other does not. However, when I try to use the dates from Table A wih Table B (no dates) the line graph looks bad. I think I need to create a date table and join it to Table A and then change the relationship of Table A and Table B to be bidirectional filtering?

@brs09j you can do that, what about merging the tables? what information is in the 2 tables?

@vanessafvg

I was wondering about that 2 but I don't really understand best practice with that. When do I want to merge tables?

Both tables have a ton of columns and some will overlap. Sales and Storage.

@brs09j are they the same in both tables?  what is tons of columns?   (i dont think thats an issue actually) , just depends.

If you have duplications across the tables might be better to merge.

@brs09j  lol, what are you asking?

what are you trying to do?  why are you creating time intelligence if you dont have dates?  Unless there is a way of deriving a date, it would be hard to use time intelligence

Well theres two tables. Table A has dates. Table B does not. Theres a relationship between the two.

Should I create a date table and join it to table A then turn on bidirectional filtering?
