How can a developer (not end-user) view records behind a matrix?

Hi,

I know users can no longer see records behind a matrix but how can a developer best find the records that make up the values in a matrix in order to find what is causing errors? (i.e. if I know what value should be in a table then used to use see records to find the records that are causing any difference to the expected value - it was a really important feature so I'm hoping there's another way of effectively doing the same thing?)

Thanks,

CM

Hi @CloudMonkey,

Current see records feature already released on power bi desktop, please check below document to make sure you use the supported visual and not match the limitations.

Limitations

There are a few limitations to consider when using See Data or See Records:

  • Only the following visual types are supported:
    • Bar
    • Column
    • Map
    • Tree Map
    • Filled Map
    • Pie
    • Donut
    • Funnel
  • You can't use See Records when your visual uses a calculated measure
  • You can't use See Records when connected to a live multidimensional (MD) model
