How can I create a bar chart with Multiple Response values?

How can I make a bar chart show the number of people that select a singular value in a multi-select field?

In my sample data, I took a sample of 978 records where people have the ability to select more than one value for the same question.

  • For instance, Composer was selected by 188 of the 978 records, while Student was selected by 302 of the 978.

I want the chart to just display either the count or percent of single multi-select values. How can this be done in PowerBI?

I have been struggling to find an answer in the forum, so any way to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

In your scenario, you can firstly split your [Role] column by comma to Rows in Query Editor.

Then you should be able to simply show [Role] column as Axis, Count of [Unique ID] (with Percent of grand total checked) as Value on the Cluster bar chart to get your expected result.
