How can I change existing report's dataset to Online Services -> Power BI service?

Hi,

I would like to change currently existing report's dataset to Power BI service(https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-report-lifecycle-datasets/).

The purpose is to reduce number of datasets and make the daily refreshing working lightly.

Any idea about that?

Hi @jackiekim,

Based on my test, as the Power BI service data source is exploring live data. If the existing report doesn't use the Power BI Service data source, we can't modify the data source in existing report to Power BI Service data source, we must create a new file to get data from Power BI Service data source. If the existing already use Power BI Service data source, you can use Data Source Settings to change to different dataset in desktop.
