Hi,
I am using Mysql as datasource in power BI. My dat-abse size is around 5GiG. When I make connction my mysql server continously go away. However initially i need to make reports from 8-10 tables out of many.
My problem is when I make connection with query it works but does not work without query, it keeps on loading.
Second thing is how sync works between mysql and power BI. Does it download whole database on local powerBI desktop and then we uplaod it to cloud or it is sysnced between cloud reports and mysql. What happens when there is table with millions of records? does it download whole table again or just sysc with latest data?
Also how can we achieve same with web url where this weburl provides json data of a table and power bi uses it. Do we have to dump whole data of a table or multiple tables everytime in json on web url for power bi to import?
Thank you
Swapna
Hi @swapna,
>>does it download whole table again or just sysc with latest data?
Power bi will refresh the whole table.
>>Do we have to dump whole data of a table or multiple tables everytime in json on web url for power bi to import?
Power bi also use import mode to import json file, I don't think it will improve the refresh performance.
I'd like to recommend you post this requirement to ideas to help power bi improve the user experience of mysql.
