Hierarchy Slicer Blanks

Hello Everyone,

I have an issue with Hierarchy slicer visual. I used the visual to filter data based on  Main Category  and sub-category fields.  The Main Category is on one table but the sub-categories are in defferent tables. The issue is when I draged- droped the sub-categories to the slicer, I have to brows many blanks levels to reach to child level. The below image illustrates the issue.  Please advice thank you 🙂

Please consider voting to my idea to add this option to the Matrix visual:

@RamiDaoud ,

In the Format section of the Visualizations pane, you may enter "Empty Leaves" in the "Search" textbox.

I used the "empty leaves" option but it didn't work well because, if the parent level is blank, all the next levels are removed, even if there are data in them. I simply need to hide blanks only when there are no data - i.e. if the parent level is blank and there are data in the next level, only the parent level should be removed.

Thank you

The parent shouldn't be blank in the first place, should it?

I'd advise you to:

  • Clean up your data little, give the parents values. I always just give it the value of a lower level.
  • Explicitly make a hierarchy instead of dragging the cols on to the slicer.
