Hide columns in table

Hi all,

I have a table with an X amount of columns, but not all information is relevant for everyone looking into the dashboard. I was wondering wheter it is possible to hide columns in a table as a user when you do not want to see those? And of course, the users should be able to unhide them as well if they would like to.

Best regards,

Gijs

hi, @Gijs

There is no way to hide the column for now,

I suggest you could vote the ideas below which has been submitted in Power BI ideas forum and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

but as a workaround, you can hide the value in the columns with DAX, you can set measure value to blank based on selected options.

For example:

USERNAME Function

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/username-function-dax

Measure = IF(USERNAME()=XXXX,BLANK(), CALCULATE(SUM(Table1[Value])))
BeforeBeforeAfterAfter

This is now possible by enabling/allowing users to personalize visuals. That means they can add or remove columns as they see fit, without any developer involvement. Users can bookmark their choices for re-use.

A work around I did for this is turn word wrap off and make the column very small in width

I voted up the idea.

The username function will not work in my case since I would like the users themselves to be able to hide columns. So I guess the only thing I can do than is waiting until something like that would be implemented.

Gijs
