Help with an AVERAGE & SUMMARIZE

Hello,
I am trying to create an average for a category breakdown. Essentially there are 3 categories available for each respondent and by month we group those for a breakdown that will total 100%. After that we are doing an average of that breakdown. However, in some month's one category may have no results. Even when that is the case we want that month to still be counted in the average. For instance, Jan-August we have results and then Sept-Oct have no values... I still want the division to be over the 10 months. Can someone please assist.

Hi @nmckbcs,

For your scenario, you could create another calculated table with summarize and create a measure to get the average value.

Table = SUMMARIZE('download to use','download to use'[Category],'download to use'[Month],"temp",[Category_Breakdown])

measure= CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[temp]),ALLEXCEPT('Table','Table'[Category]))/12

Then you could get your desired output.

More details, please refer to the attachment.

If you still need help, please share your desired output so that we could help further on it.

Best  Regards,

Cherry
