Hi there, I'm new to power bi and had a question for a sales report I'm working on:
The data is in .csv format and the filename contains the date and year (April, 2015 for example). The atual file does not have the date. I want to be able to report on date and yearly sales.
My question is: From a best practices perspective, should I:
a)add the information to the .csv file
b)change the file name to (month/day/year) and add couple of new columns to my table using dax
c)Add the file's date modified to the report by adding the files meta data to powerbi
d)something else?
Thank you in advance for the help!

@sunnyS If I have to do this, I will bring CSV file as it is and extract month/year from the file name, and add a date column from it, and from there everything will be work as expected.
