Help me to create a common filter in Power BI Dashboard

Hi All,

 

I'm new to power BI.

I have created different views from different sheets/tables where i have "month", "customer name", "Page Category" fields which are common on each sheets/tables.

I'm new to POWER BI desktop, can you please help me how to create a common filter of month", "customer name", "Page Category" fields for all views. My objective is to change all views on the selection of these 3 "month", "customer name", "Page Category" common fields.  

 

Please help me here

@Anonymous , you need to join date with date table.

 

You can use relative date filter -https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/desktop-slicer-filter-date-range

@amitchandak I don't have date table then how can join date with date table? Can you please record steps invloved to create a common filter?

HI @Anonymous 

 

You have to create relationship between all tables based on the three columns you have mentioned.

Once that is done one single filter will filter data from all tables and all views

@pranit828 I'm new to Power BI. Can you please guide me how we have to create relationship between these tables?

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

Please refer to this document: Create and manage relationships in Power BI Desktop.

 

In addition, I find that some of your tables' structures are similar. Maybe you can use Appen or Combine to simplify your model.
