Has anyone actually used the xViz Gantt Pro (paid for) chart?

As an organisation we're looking to use the xViz Gantt chart. If you download the free version for Power BI Desktop, you can make use of a range of really great features that are not available in a standard Gantt.

However, when you publish the report the visual is not available. You are prompted to purchase the Pro version of the visual.

The vendor's website says that every user who views the report will need a license to view the visual. This seems unlikely - how would this be controlled by xViz? How would user access to a private report be monitored? I doubt the user accounts of report viewers could be audited that way.

Anecdotally I have been told that the Pro visual can be installed as an organisational visual and distributed to an unlimited number of users, which is the behaviour you would expect from a paid-for third party visual. Has anyone else used it and can you confirm one way or the other whether viewers of a report need an xViz licence to view the visual?

Thanks in advance.

Hi  @TobiasMaceUK ,

According to my test, whether it is a free account or a pro account, reports with xViz Gantt can be published.

According to the documentation, when you share their reports with others, whether you are yourself or others, need have Power BI Pro permissions, or purchase Power BI Premium to allow the content to exist in Premium capacity.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-how-to-collaborate-distribute-da...

There is another way, you can use Planned Invites to invite users as guest users from the Azure portal, and assign them to the guest user pro permissions, so that users can see the reports you share.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guidance/whitepaper-azure-b2b-power-bi

For monitor user access to private reports, power bi does not currently have this function.
