Hanging ETL query

Hi,

I have a ETL query that works fine in query editor but hangs when I try to refresh the query from the normal desktop view. I think it's hanging because the source excel file has a huge number of rows and columns. Must of these rows and columns are not used though so I'd like to try ignoring them in the initial data extraction (rather than just filtering them out later in query editor) - please can someone tell me how to do this?

Many thanks,

CM

Hi @CloudMonkey

Your requirement can be achieved by query parameter in power query.

It seems your source is the excel file.

If so, here are similar threads to refer to.

query parameters when data source is excel workbook

ODBC.query with Excel cells parameters

Best Regards
