Grey out or disable a visual?

I'm using bookmarks to control visibility of some visuals on a page. In one case I want to keep a visual (or a copy of it) but have it disabled. At the moment I'm using an image of the actual visual I made that's been coloured grey to look like it's just been disabled, but I was hoping there's a proper way to do it.

Thanks, it's not a bad idea. I hadn't thought of that at all.

 

It still leaves the option for users to use the slicer/filter, and then they might just get confused as to why it's not working. I'd rather a different method.
