Google Sheets Connection Broken

Hi,

I've had a dashboard running for around a month using connection to Google Sheets.

I woke up yesterday to a "failed refresh email" from PBI advising the report had fallen over. Upon investigating, PBI is unable to connect to the Google Sheet to bring the data through. This is completely random as it's worth for a month straight with no problem, and no changed have been made since then.

I'm connecting to the GS following this guide: https://natechamberlain.com/2019/10/08/connect-a-google-sheet-spreadsheet-to-power-bi-as-a-data-sour...

The error I'm now receiving is: DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from (Google Sheet URL) (400): Bad Request
Details: DataSourceKind=Web

Please can someone help? I don't want to connect to the GS in a different way and rebuild the dashboard from scratch, I just want it to stop erroring when I'm connecting to the google sheet, which previously worked.

Big thanks!

I had the issues but I changed the end of the data links used for the source data (export?format=xlsx) and they are all back working.

Below are only examples

Old link:

New working link

Greetings,

This solution was working for me when i first saw it, but later that day i kept receiving this error message in my daily refresh.

Dashboard - Financeiro has failed to refresh.
Failure details: The operation has timed out

Next refresh for Dashboard - Financeiro is scheduled for November 26, 2020 15:30 UTC.

Is there something that i'm missing?

Amazing, this worked! Reports are now back up and running and scheduled refresh is now back in action.

Thank you so much, and to everyone else for their help also! 🙂

Experiencing the same. All Google Sheets data sources have been failing in both the Power BI Service and pbix files for about a week and half.

Having the same problem here. It has been working fine for more than a year. Anyone find a solution to this?

@JordanPearson , I have connected to GS using the same way. Just check that sheet name is not changed in google sheets or Some permission has changed.

Hi, thanks for your response!

Unfortunately this isn't the issue no. I can't connect to any Google Sheet at all in the same way as before which is exceptionally strange.

Even if I make a blank PBI dashboard, and try connect like I did previously I receive the same error message?

I am having the same problem. I am running about 20 reports and half of them are showing DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (400): Bad Request.

I have checked the data addresses and there is no change?
