Getting "Can't display this visual" error

I'm trying to create a slicer on a page where the field is my Request Number.

When I put the Request ID field in the slicer it gives me the following error:

Can't display this visual. This visual contains one or more filters with deleted columns, type mismatches, or other breaking modeling changes

I can seem to find any info on this error or how to debug. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @RandimUser

I actually had this error today.  It was caused by another visual that had a deleted column as a filter.  I guess the cross-filtering capability of visuals was generating the error.

Check all your visuals for deleted columns or measures.

Regards

Phil

Hi, @RandimUser

According to your error message, if you don’t have any filters on this visual, I think the problem should exist in the type mismatches or other breaking modeling changes. What’s your data connection mode? Have you changed the column names in the data source file after you connected to the data source with Power BI?

Here's a case that has the same error as yours:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Power-Query/This-visual-contains-one-or-more-filters-with-deleted-c...

If you still can not find the cause of the problem, you can post the pbix file with this error(without sensitive data) and your expected result.

Hi @RandimUser

Select your Slicer then check what Filters are applied to it

You may have a column in the filters that you have deleted.

Or there may be a filter that had some criteria applied, for example Show items less than 5 - which is a numeric filter.  If that column has then had its data type changed to Text, that filter criteria becomes invalid.

Remove any filters on your slicer and then reapply them.

Phil

I don't have any Filter criteria identified for the slicer.  Here is what I have for the slicer and the filter criteria:
