Hi All,
I'm trying to do some RLS for my report and i'd like it to change the filter on the page as well so that the viewer knows what is being filtered. For example: I created a role for my swim coach so that they could only see data from my swim team but the filter displayed on the page shows women's volleyball. Is there any way to sync the filter on a report page to the role level?

Hi @drivas771994 ,
RLS looks like a filter in power bi, when you create a role like '[Type] = "Swim"', it will show the data about swim field. However, it is based on that you have not filtered slicers. For example, before enabling RLS, you have filtered the slicer equals 'Volleyball', after enabling RLS, the slicer will keep the 'swim' and 'volletball' at the same time. You need to click the 'swim' in the slicer to eliminate other fields in the slicer.
As far as I know, to avoid this phenomenon, not select the slicer before using RLS is a better way.

@drivas771994 Yes that is what RLS does you can follow the below screeshot
Since you have already created a role for swim coach you will have to add another condition like below
Before RLS Applied
After RLS applied
I hope this is what you were looking for...

I'm confused as to what else I would ask it to filter since I set the rule for it to filter swim. I'm not looking for it to filter anything else for RLS. I just want it to display on the filter I circled in red on the report page.
