Get Sum for Sales of Each person in a filtered table

I have 2 tables. 

Table A has SalesPerson name and its Sales, and other column. 

I am creating a new filtered table where I need Distinct SalesPerson names and a column with their total sales. 

How would I go about it ?

I am trying to use SUMX but not able to do it correctly.

new table = Summarize(sales,sales[sales_person],sum(sales[sales amount))
