Fuzzy merge with one text column and one number column?

I understand Fuzzy only works on text fields. I'm doing a table merge using two columns where one is text and one is numeric. Power BI gives me the error stating it only works on text fields. I'd still like to use fuzzy match for the text field and exact match on the numeric field. Is there a way to tell Power BI to ignore the numeric column and just use fuzzy on the text column?

Could you please show us the original tables' data structure? You can also upload sample pbix to OneDrive and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.

I tested that if the data is easy to handle, we can customize the columns to split the data, and then fuzzy match the two columns.

@toddjneedham I guess you have two seperate column, one for text and one for number? Is this correct understanding?
