Hey folks!
I have a unique situation (at least I think it's unique) that I'd love some insight on. Basically, when I was building dashboards in Excel, I figured out a way to use Concatenate and VBA to compile a list of emails (separated by ; ) and load the concatenated list into Outlook's BCC field through a VBA button.
My question is simply whether or not there's anything doable in PowerBI along the same lines? I'm still very new to PBI, and I know the two programs are totally different animals, but I've seen just enough overlap in a few areas to make me think this may be possible.
For context (in case anyone has alternative ideas that may be helpful), I'm just trying to help Managers within my company send emails to employees who need to take action based on report data (compliance trainings, etc). The users that need to take action more often than not won't have access to the dashboards, and I'd like to save the Managers the hassle of having to type out email addresses in instances where the user list may be in the multiple dozens.
If it's not possible that's ok, just hoping someone may know of a viable solution.
Thanks to all of you for the great support this community offers 🙂

HI @Anonymous ,
AFAIK, current power bi does not support to pass data view slicer/filter selections to query tables side.
I'd like to suggest you try to use power query to invoke outlook API to send emails based on concatenated query table field values.
Outlook Mail REST API reference (version 2.0)
Pull data from a REST API Authentication

Bumping this only because it never got posted properly.
@Anonymous you can surely create (semi color) ; seperated concatenated list if that is what you are asking for, but you cannot send Power BI to send emails, not sure if this helps.
