From Snowflake to Star Schema

When I have a snowflake schema and want to use a star schema instead, then best practice is to use the query editor to merge the related DIM tables. Is this correct? For example, based on the diagram below, I would use the query editor to merge "Dim Event Details" with "Dim Event"?

Ah ok, thanks. Maybe the example above was not a good one. How about the one below? Here, it would be best practice to merge "product_category" and "product" in the query editor to get the star schema, right?

@TimmK , One event is having more than one detail, how you want to filter event fact from this.

Because events table only has EventID. So ideally model is fine unless you want to have interaction between  event fact and event details
