Using Import mode to bring in tables from a SSAS tabular model, the column names are full field names (table name included). Is there a way to have Power BI bring in the field name only?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Importing from SSAS is the least desirable approach to Power BI (in my view). Power BI has the same tabular modelling engine as SSAS tabular. You are effectively building a new model from scratch from an existing model. You should consider connecting live to the SSAS tabular model. If it doesn't meet your needs, consider the new composite model features https://exceleratorbi.com.au/the-most-important-update-to-power-bi-desktop-ever/
if for what ever reason those options don't work, your only option is to rename the columns. You can do this after import from the report view, or inside Power Query
