Hi,
I have a date dimension table D_DATE that contains the field BK_Date that contains a date.
Its format is set to dd/MM/yyyy
In the facts table F_METRICS I have a calculated field Datum = RELATED(D_DATE[BK_Date]), based on the corresponding value of BK_Date from the D_DATE table.
The format of the field Datum is also set to dd/MM/yyyy
The calculated field Datum is used in a slicer:
But the format of the two dates shown in the slicer is M/d/yyyy instead of dd/MM/yyyy.
How can I force the slicer to use the format of the field calculated Datum and the related field BK_Date?
Thanks
R.W.
@Anonymous ,
I have made same changes at my end and it is working perfect.
Don't forget to give thumbs up 👍 and accept this as a solution if it helped you.
The date should follow the format on the base field. DD/MM/YYYY format is governed by the format of the system. Make sure that is done. Also when you are seeing it as DD/MM/YYYY is date format.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Can you please check the date format of your system/machine on which Power BI Desktop is installed?
I think your system date format is MM/DD/YYYY, therefore slicer is showing it that way in Power BI.
If this helps please give Kudos and mark it as a Solution! 🙂

Thanks,
But my settings are correct, namely dd/MM/yyyy

Hi @Anonymous ,
I see in your screenshot, that your Format = English(Belgium). Is this right? Does this need to be chnaged to United States or United Kingdom, etc.?
Also, try checking in Power BI settings as follows:
This should be same to your system date settings Region.
If this helps please give Kudos and mark it as a Solution! 🙂
Thanks,

Thanks,
yes this is OK
I'm working in Belgium, using Belgian key board, but all the applications are in English
So English (Belgium) is correct
I tried to change it to United States and in United Kingdom, but it doesnt have any effect: the dates in the slicer stay in the wrong format
