Hey,

can you please post a screenshot from your Options, like this oneR IDE.png

Go to: File --> Options and settings --> Options --> R scripting

I assume you already have R installed on your desktop, this is necessary for the Forecast visuals.

Regards

Tom

forecasting with time series visual

Hey,

please excuse beeing that persistent, but searching the term "forecasting" in the custom visuals on the office store reveals just

  • Time Series Forecasting Chart
  • Forecasting with Arima

I assume you are referencing the first one, did you check that all the requirede packages are installed to you R instance, referenced by Power BI.

Top check this, open your R ide, make sure that your ide points to the same R instance that is used by Power BI, check if all the needed packages are installed to your R instance by using this line of code in your R ide

library("zoo")

for each package separately, if necessary install missing packages.

The visual "Time Series Forecasting Chart" needs the following packages:

"graphics", "scales", "forecast", "zoo", "ggplot2", "htmlWidgets", "XML", "plotly"

Hope this helps

Regards

Tom

i installed all packages which you mentioned but still i am not getting it

Hey,

this is odd, here you will find a little pbix file. There is a report page "Time Forecast using R" that contains the custom visuals I mentioned above.

Can you please check, if you get the same error? As you can see from the screenshot, it works, at least on my side:

Hopefully this gives you another idea.

Are the more information you can obtain from the error message?

Tom

Please, share a pbix file that includes data and also "non-working" forecasting visuals.

Are you using the latest Power BI version - the September release?

Have you

  • deleted the non working visuals from your Power BI file, not just from the report, but also the custom visual itself
  • closed and reopened your visuals
  • downloaded and reattached the visual from the store

Tom

i cannot share the pbix file since there is confidential data.

Then create a pbix, that creates the same error but just contains sample data. Just making sure that there is a reproduceable issue.

This is the last step where I can assist.

Tom

where do i upload the file?

i cannot use dropbox and sharepoint since there is restrictions

Then,

I can't be of any further assistance, maybe you sould sent a frown, but you have to be aware that at some point you may be asked to provide sample data.

If you are intereested in sharing the pbix file, sent me a direct message and I will provide an email adress, where you can sent a sample pbix.

Regards

Tom
