I figured it out, it was because of the fact, that I had mlutiple lines in visual. When I took away the Legend, Forecast option has shown in Analytics pane.

Thanks.

Pavel

I am having an issue with the forecasting tab not being available.

I have tried changing the x axis type from "categorical" to "continuous" but it automatically switches back to "categorical" anyone know what I need to do to change this?

Thanks.

@Vaishnavi_M Forecasting is only availabe with Line chart so if you're using Column chart you won't see the option.

Hi @ankitpatira. I know that, even though I have no Forecasting in Analytics pane.... as below

@PavelR @Vaishnavi_M You will only get forecasting option when on x-axis you've used column that is of type datetime / number, it won't work with other data type columns. Also it requires more than six data points on x-axis to forecast.

@PavelR I see a space between the first two digits in that x-axis series, which tells me that you're using a text column. The data type must be numeric.

@PavelR you must be using some sort of hierarchy then because that's not what dates look like. The automatic date hierarchy treats all the drill levels as text. You will need to create a hierarchy where all the drill levels are numeric, using your own custom columns.

Also done this but the forecasting tab is still missing (PBI april 17' 32 bit version)

@Einariadone which "this"? There are multiple requirements to get the forecasting option.

  1. Must be a Line chart
  2. with no Legend, only a single line
  3. with a numeric or date x-axis
  4. and the x-axis Type must be set to "Continuous" not "Categorical"

If you have done all of those things and it still does not work, please show us a screenshot of the problem visual along with all of its relevant settings.

Hi,

My Forecast tab also not available.

For my x-axis type the default value is "Categorical", I try to change the x-axis type to "Continous" but failed. It automatically change back to "Categorical".

Hi,

My Forecast tab also not available.

I have a problem change my x-axis type to "continuos". Every time I tried to change from "Categorical" to "Continuos", it automatically change back to "Categorical".

was missing the "no legend" part works, thanks!

Your line chart also must have a numeric or date value as the x-axis, not text. Month, for instance, won't work, but month number would.
