Hello - I have mapped the latitude and longitude of several locations onto a map. Each of the locations has an associated order size. I now want to plot the center of gravity of these locations and then connect all the locations to this center of gravity.
Is there any feature in BI to allow for this?
Actually there is a way how to calculate CoG in DAX or in QueryMode (M) (several math approaches can be used)
But, responcivenes of the result matters
if you calculate CoG in Query mode, you will have table with CoG point and after you can use any map visual to display it or FlowMap custom visual to connect CoG with any other points from your dataset.
but if you need to calcuate CoG using slicers and filters, you have to calculate CoG as a measure. In my findings, only MapBox custom visual allows to show the point on the map using coordinates from Measures. It will show the point, but no flows to other points.
Hi,
Do you have an example of a messure that will claculate this?

Hi @spandal,
By my tests, it seems that there is no options for us to get the center of gravity of these locations on the map in Power BI currently.
You may post your new idea in Power BI idea Forum and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

Cherry
