Filtering multiple pages (but not all)

Hi

I have two types of pages in my report - one which focuses on monthly data (e.g. actuals, budget, vs. prev month) and the other type is one which provides data over the year (e.g. actual v budget for the year).

The trouble is that these pages use the same data set so if I am applying an "all pages" filter so end users can target specific months for monthly data, it affects the data over time i.e. restricts the charts to Sep-2019 rather than show the whole year.

Without replicating the data set, is there any way to filter a number of pages together?

Hi @Anonymous

One method you can go to View/Sync Slicers and have some slicers only adjust certain pages.  This uses slicers and not filters though.

The other way would be to have (on the filter pane) have a different filter per specific page type (Monthly versus Yearly).

Another thing that you can do is adjust the visual interactions (Format/Edit Interactions) and decouple certain visuals from being sliced (which could help).

**Re-reading your question, I think a combination of adjusting the interactions and using the timeline slicer visual ( or similar) and the View/Sync Slicers tool could be the solution. I have used this before with monthly and yearly data and it works pretty well.

Cheers

Manfred
