I have not found a post that quite solves my problem. My sharepoint list has a multi select lookup column that is recognizing each combination as a unique value in Power BI. And as the data constantly changes there will contantly be different or more combinations in the relationship as the lookup column has 50 values- I have seen solutions that have fewer possible combinations so didn't seem to work in this situation.
I have tried editing the query, creating measures, and adjusting relationships - these are my attempts/problems:
1) Query:
In order to change the ID to the text of the state abbreviation I have to use FieldValueAsText, which then doesn't allow me to later Expand to New Rows of that column (expanding to new rows was one solution I found).
Meaure:
2) I am very new to DAX and have not been able to find the right combination. I suspect that the SELECTEDVALUES function I'm using in the DAX are referencing IDs rather the text of the state abbreviation and/or that it is still recognizing values as unique and not searching with the delimeters.
3) Relationships:
Have attempted some different cross filter direction, but still think that it may be using ID rather than the text of the state abbreviation.
What I want to accomplish is have a slicer from the table "License States" table which identifies if any of the text values within the delimeters are found for a particular employee.
Would greatly appreciate some direction.
