hi all
trying to determine where to start. im working on a powerbi report on my companies Azure usage, specifically being able to drill into subscription and resource costings under our EA agreement
i would like to have a report that allows me to compare 2 tables of potentially the same data but with different filters selected for both tables
what i am trying to achieve is show our total costs month on month, let management see the results....and when they ask questions about rises in costs......then be able to drill into 2 different months to show where the costs have increased, and why
for example
for table A
- wish to select the month of May 2019 and show me the resource cost values associated with that month
for table B
- wish to select the month of June 2019 and show me the resource cost values associated with that month
then wish to be able to compare the tables and show (whether in a new table or highlighting it in the 2nd table)
the new resources that have been added between the 2 tables, so i can highlight increase in costs can be attributed to the addition of these resources.
any idea where i should start? and whether this is actually possible?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Could you please share your sample data and excepted result to me if you don't have any Confidential Information. Please upload your files to One Drive and share the link here.
to add to this
i was able to quickly work out how to create some new columns against the date field
then filter and edit interactions
so what is left is a way to compare the 2 tables (the tables are based on the same tables and fields, they just are filtered differently on the month
