Filter updated based on time / count number of times refreshed...

Hi!

I had an idea for a report that could be cool to try out. Problem is I suspect some of the functionality for my solution would be impossible in Power BI as of now, but maybe someone has a solution to such a report.

I have created a report collecting a set of news headlines, abstracs and images. I added a slicer where the user could select a headline and basically get the case baseline and a button to go to the news outlet.

What I would like to do is update the current selected headline every few minutes. So I was wonder if I could do this by using a live time measure like NOW(), or would this have to be done through data refresh? If it had to be updated by a datarefresh, is there a way to implement a variable where we count number of refreshes? Or would it be better to create a time period for each headline one could join with a time dimension to check which headline would be shown at this current time?

Has anyone tried something like this? I would love to hear about it if you have!

Best regards

Hi @Anonymous

If you connect to data source and import data into Power BI,

Then you need to refresh the dataset so that the newest data updates and shows on report.

When publishing reports to Power BI Service , manually/configure schedule refresh if need,

you can find "refresh history" of a dataset under "the dataset->Setting.

Here you can find how many times the dataset refreshed.

Best Regards
Maggie
