I have an expense type of Medicaid that is made up of two line items. How do I filter one while leaving the other?
Go to Solution.
Assume you want to keep the second row of "MEDICAID", filter out the first row.
you could create a measure,
Measure = MAX(Table1[expecse type])&MAX(Table1[header2])
then add the measure in the visual level filter, after applying filters on the "expecse type", then apply filter in the [measure] as below

While I havent tested your solution, it looks workable. I ended up doing this:
Medicaid = IF('Actual Items'[Expense Type]="Medicaid" && 'Actual Items'[Fund Center] = "Public Assistance-Direct", "medicaid")
I realized that in my "fund center" there is a marker that makes this line item unique. I created an If statement to get it to appear and then filtered added it to my visual and filtered the medicaid out.
