Filter from specific month

I have a month filter. When a month is selected, I want data only from April to that selected month to be displayed.

E.g. If May is selected, only data from April to May is selected. If March is selected, data for the whole year is displayed.

 

How do I go about doing this?

@Anonymous what is the logic to data be display from April to March when March is selected? How it is whole year? Is this fiscal year?

Yes that is right Fiscal year. April is the first month of the fiscal year.

 

My apologies, I should have been more specific. 

 

So I have a bar chart with two filters - Year and Month.  Let's say I select Year 2018.

If I select April, only April 2018 should be displayed.

If I select August, only April - August 2018 should be displayed.

If I select March, only April 2017 - March 2018 should be displayed.

 

Note that I do have Fiscal year, fiscal month,  calendar year and calendar month as columns in my table.

So for fiscal month, April maps to 1, May to 2 etc.

For calendar month, April maps to 4, May to 5 etc.
